In the beginning...

Follow our family adventure training for the pct in 2014! We are doing fun outdoor activities with our kids to get healthy, have lots of smiles and to be outside. We welcome suggestions on activities, light weight packing or your favorite backpacking recipes. Hope to see you on the trail!

Parrish Creek Trail...

Today we took Lightning Dog (age 6) and The Hamster (age 8) high above Bountiful/ Centerville Utah. The first part was a steep elevation a little challenging for them but they each carried about 7 lbs.  One fun motivator we learned is that kids like to name landmarks on the trail. Kept them aware of their surroundings and their minds off "taking a break". They came up with "Camp Treehouse" where they want to camp next time and "Rockbiter" a small rock outcropping that looks like a face and to pay hommage to the never ending story. Next time we plan to camp and summit Bountiful peak (Elev 9,259).
